Holy Spirit Northside

Co-located at The Prince Charles Hospital’s Rode Road campus, Holy Spirit Northside is a private hospital specialising in cardiology, cardiac surgery, orthopaedics and general surgery. The hospital also caters for patients needing access to urology, oncology, plastic surgery and general medical services.

Jointly owned by the Holy Spirit Missionary Sisters and the Sisters of Charity, Holy Spirit Northside has grown since it opened in 2001. The 164-bed hospital is currently undergoing significant expansion, with an extra 30 beds scheduled to open by Christmas 2009. Preliminary discussions have also begun regarding the relocation of the hospital’s day oncology unit and subsequent increases in the hospital’s bed numbers.

Many of the doctors who work at The Prince Charles Hospital also work as Visiting Medical Officers at Holy Spirit Northside. This cross-campus approach ensures the highest standard of care for patients in both hospitals.

As part of its co-location agreement with Queensland Health, Holy Spirit Northside pays rent to The Prince Charles Hospital, which has been used, among other things, to fund research positions.
