Breeze Café kitchen refit
The Breeze Café is a major source of support for The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation, with net profit offsetting administrative costs and allowing donations to be allocated to funding research grants.
In partnership with the Hospital, the long-awaited refurbishment of the Breeze Café kitchen will start in April. The work includes expanding the food preparation areas to provide better service to staff and patients at The Prince Charles Hospital. The Foundation plans to increase its external catering service to increase profits to further support research.
The work is anticipated to start on 19 April and will be completed by early to mid July. The Café will continue to operate during this period but may have restricted service. Where possible, work which will affect the operation of the Café will be done at night and on weekends.
Expected restrictions:
• 19-21 April – possible short restrictions to coffee and hot drinks machines due to relocation of water pipes. Full kitchen and sandwich services will continue as normal.
• 2 days late April/ early May – possible part-kitchen closure while the kitchen wall is moved, affecting hot meals food. Sandwiches and prepacked food will be available. This work will be done at night so may only affect evening staff. The Foundation may use a food van outside the Café for limited hot food preparation.
• Throughout project – relocation and replacement of equipment will take place during weekends and evenings to limit restrictions to service. During these periods there will be no hot food service available.
Later in the year, the Foundation will be conducting a Breeze Café customer survey to help us further improve our service to staff and patients. If you have any comments or suggestions, please complete a survey so your thoughts can be taken into consideration.
